Sticky Tape – October 2008

Sticky Tape is a new, temporary collaborative installation initative I’ve designed for the Open for Ideas research and consultation programme at the Riverbank Arts Centre. The idea is to bring the community of Kildare together to celebrate and actively engage with Riverbank Arts Centre and the building’s public spaces. This interactive collaboration between artist, public and space is to symbolise the public presence, broaden artistic engagement into different realms of space and re-imagine the gallery space available.

I have chosen a very simple material to work with on this project – a lovely vinyl adhesive film very kindly sponsored by O Sullivan Print.

All participants are invited to cut out their own original designs from the material at home and drop them back to the centre. The collection of these pieces will form part of the overall installation.
